GRL-Consulting
In GRL-Consulting I have chosen to focus on two type of consultations:
- Consulting with-in surface treatment systems
- Board work
I have chosen, after more than 30 years as owner-manager in my family company, to stop and work with technology, strategy and international sales as a consultant and board member.
In 2017 I decided to sell the company, and after 12 months preparation, work and negotiations with potential buyers, I made an agreement and put the company together with a Danish competitor and together we sold to an investment fund and a private investor. We both re-invested in the new company. I chose in 2022 to stop where I sold my shares.
I have chosen to use the experience and knowledge I have built up over the years, both on the practical, technical level around surface treatment/painting and also with the strategic things that happen in the boardroom, as I am passionate about both.
The plants were all customized surface treatment plants. Each order was in the range of DKK 1-40 million. No order was the same and all orders had high complexity and a collaboration with many sub-suppliers. Our part was produced at our factory in Denmark and exported to the customer.
We exported 90% of the turnover to Europe, the American continent, Russia and Asia, so a really wide palette of cultures. From the time I took over the management in 1994, we expanded our product portfolio so that we had one of the broadest product programmes
on the market and we went from approx. 20 orders per year to over 100.
